This Senior Buyer role is a hands-on procurement position with real ownership — managing strategic supplier relationships, driving cost savings, and supporting sourcing decisions that directly impact the bottom line.

Responsibilities
Manage the full procurement cycle for assigned categories - RFQs, purchase orders, supplier selection, and contract execution
Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships, conducting regular business reviews and performance evaluations
Identify and deliver measurable cost savings through negotiation, sourcing events, and supplier consolidation
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and planning teams to support new product introductions and material requirements
Monitor supplier delivery performance, quality metrics, and risk exposure; escalate and resolve supply disruptions
Support development and execution of category strategies in alignment with broader procurement goals
Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP and contribute to reporting on spend, savings, and supplier KPIs
Mentor junior buyers and purchasing coordinators as a senior resource on the team
Requirements
5+ years of progressive procurement or strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and deliver cost savings
Strong analytical skills with experience in spend analysis, TCO modeling, and supplier scorecards
Hands-on ERP experience required — SAP, Oracle, or similar; proficiency in Excel a must
Familiarity with indirect and direct materials sourcing; experience across both is a plus
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; CPSM or CSCP certification preferred
Strong communicator who can engage confidently with suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels
Based in or willing to commute to the Charlotte, NC metro area
